Amy Lucky and Tania Melkonian have designed a 300-Hour Teacher Training to fill the knowledge and experience gaps that may be holding you back from trusting your own teaching gifts. This training follows a modular format that you can begin when you are ready. Please see our diverse curriculum of modules and selection of elective courses below. This training offers a convenient pay-as-you-go schedule: $400 per module/$200 per elective. This training is registered with Yoga Alliance as an official 300-hour training program.
What you will learn in this 20-hour module: Effective Presence What Imposter Syndrome really is and how to use it for inspiration How to find sources of inspiration and information Creating a theme from anatomy and movement Creating a theme from yoga philosophy Creating a theme from the mythology of asana The importance of voice Effective timing for theme-based cues Teaching theme-based workshops
What you will learn in this 20-hour module: How to identify postural patterns that commonly emerge in the yoga practice An anatomical understanding of how the human body manages gravity in different asana How to understand the various potential root causes for specific postural patterns Using the practice of somatics, understanding the difference between Red-Light Posture, Green-Light Posture, and Trauma (physical) Posture How the brain processes spacial awareness
What you will learn in this 20-hour module: The foundations of yoga history An understanding of the time periods of yoga: Pre-Vedic, Vedic, Pre-Classical, Classical, Post-Classical, and the relevant texts: Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, Yoga Sutras, Hatha Yoga Pradipika. The four paths of yoga The styles of yoga associated with Modern Postural Yoga A closer look at the Bhagavad Gita and the meaning of moral philosophy Necessary Sanskrit pronunciation

What you will learn in this 20-hour module: Anatomy of respiration and breathing mechanics The physiology and biochemistry of respiration The relationship between breath and the nervous system The relationship between pranayama and the immune response Mediation practice and pedagogy The history and theory of mantra Various mindfulness tools to connect all of these practices
What you will learn in this 20-hour module: Sequencing principles Intelligent cuing and ordering of asana Sequencing to a theme, a peak pose, or an anatomical focus Teaching to special populations – injury, joint replacement, chronic illness, pregnancy and post-partum, and the elderly.
In this 20-hour module, we will investigate the most effective language for cuing asana in classes, from the perspective of anatomy and energetics. We will also understand the difference between intention and impact in regards to our presence as teachers in class, including voice tone and body language. This module will also serve as a pedagogy to refine our teaching skills and receive feedback from lead trainers and fellow trainees.

Elective courses are available for you to customize your training. In addition to all of the above modules, three elective courses must be completed to fulfill the requirements for a 300-hour training
